Honeymooner’s Cake

INGREDIENTS
  • 1 pkg chocolate cake mix

  • 1 container cool whip

  • 1 jar butterscotch or caramel ice cream topping

  • 5 Heath bars, crushed

DIRECTIONS

STEP 1

Bake cake mix according to box directions in a rectangular baking pan. Poke holes with a spoon or fork in top of cake.

STEP 2

Pour jar of butterscotch or caramel topping all over top of cake.

STEP 3

Let cake with topping mixture on it cool, about 15 minutes.

STEP 4

Spread entire container of cool whip on top of cake. Sprinkle crushed Heath/Skor bars all over top. Cut cake into squares and serve.

STORY

My husband’s Aunt gave me this recipe about 30 years ago. It is definitely a rich, sweet dessert!
