In Vivo Production Facility Expansion And Renovation
The original 80,000 SF Production and In Vivo facility opened early 2009 and due to the rapid growth of the firm, the 12,600 SF addition was designed to accommodate their needs.
Project scope included the existing shell space on the first floor, encompassing vivarium, process, and support space along with creation of a new mechanical equipment room on the second floor.
Mechanical scope included full mechanical, plumbing, utilities, and control systems design for the vivaria fit-out of existing shell space, connect new exhaust systems to existing exhaust systems for additional redundancy, evaluating current utility plant supply/demand characteristics and where required to maintain N+1 design intent and provide engineering study, payback calculations and design for the addition of chilled beams into existing clean, sterile and other process areas to lower energy operating costs by lowering air change rates. The utility plant expansion design consisted of one additional 375 ton chiller and one 100 HP low pressure steam boiler.
